Jon Wheeler - Keyboards

Jon began playing piano at the tender age of 5 years old. He performed his first recital the following year, and has never stopped playing since. Jon also played guitar and drums for a brief period of time before giving them up to concentrate his efforts wholeheartedly on the keyboards.

Jon grew up in the small 'metropolis' of Wadena, MN where he graduated in 1985 from Wadena High School and participated in several musical groups including accompanying the choir, playing trombone in band (hated that) and even drummer for the pop stage band (yea, that's when he was a pretty good drummer). During this time (34 years of playing experience), Jon also developed a natural ear for music playing mostly anything by ear to this day which goes along with being gifted with perfect pitch.

After graduating from high school, Jon attended Northwestern College in Roseville, MN where he studied Music Theory and Performance for 2 years as a Major, as well as Radio and TV broadcasting.

After being a club and mobile DJ for over 15 years after college, Jon finally realized his true talent was performing music he loved...80's rock, Journey being his all time favorite group. Jon uses YAMAHA keyboards for performing. After brief stints with Brat Pack Radio Productions, Luna Sea, and Jet City, Jon has found a new home with KICKSTART.
